There are days when maybe we all feel like this. When being an adult just seems too hard. When the simple childhood pleasures of colouring-in bring back wistful memories of times when life seemed so much simpler.
It is most likely this sentimentality that has started a revolution in therapy – adult colouring-in. In many shops you can easily find books of varying styles & titles made just for adults, not kids … and with an adult price tag at times too.
So who says kids get to have all the fun anyway?!
And of course, in this technological age that we all live in, why limit colouring-in to just paper books? There are probably more colouring-in apps available than there are 100's & 1000's on my fairy bread!
Such as this app called Recolor - Coloring Book for Adults, as shown on the App Advice blog. Such pretty pictures, glorious colours, and awesome finishes to add to your masterpiece!
But there you have it. No worries if you've broken all your favourite crayons, or run out of clean pages. Colouring-in that is modern & mobile – available on your smartphone or tablet. Sustainable too, no wasted paper, although a bit hard to pin on the fridge, hmmm. But you can colour away while commuting, while waiting in line, while studying …. oops, maybe shouldn't have given that one away.
Adding this one to my shopping list too. Of course, I'll have to test it out before letting students play with it. You know, to make sure it's ok. ;-)
Shopping list/RAT reason: Replacement of original activity through sustainable variation of materials, and Amplification of the experience through multiple filters and finishes to apply to your work.
