The scribbles of Suzanne Usher.....
I am a mature age university student, now in my third year of studies.
I am also a mother, partner, sister & daughter, who hopes one day to also be a primary school teacher. Because my child has special needs, I have also made the decision to follow the Special Education specialty in my studies.
This website began as a way to display my work for an arts course as part of my studies. Since then, there have been more opportunities to use my website for subsequent courses and learning. You will see various areas of learning represented in these pages, depending on what I am studying at the time. And if my small contribution also helps other students to get a better idea of where their studies are taking them, or to just give them some mutual support (which we all need from time to time), then all the better.
You know, before I first created this website, I always believed that I did not possess a single artistic bone in my body, and failed dismally at art when a young student myself. However I have finally reached a stage in my life where I can accept that my level of ability (or lack thereof) is not only ok, but that I can be proud of anything I choose to create, simply because I have chosen to try, to have a go. I can laugh at my mistakes, but I can only consider it a failure if I did not try at all.
I now tend to apply this same philosophy of 'have a go' to the rest of my studies, and indeed, the rest of my life. I have spent a large portion of my life so far following others' instructions, and listening to their ideas of what is right, or what I need. Now I am catching up on listening to my own ideas & dreams, and finally following my own path of what feels right. As a mature-age student, it was time to just jump in and have a go!

And remember, as Dory said, just keep scribbling, just keep scribbling, just keep scribbling, scribbling, scribbling............
Well, maybe she didn't say that..........................but she could've if she'd remembered to!!
