This thing called technology was supposed to make our lives easier, to streamline our daily tasks, and free us up to do more fun things with our lives. Technology was also supposed to start saving our precious resources, such as paper.
Well, I think maybe somebody forgot to tell the computer makers, programmers, etc, of those wonderful intentions. Because you see, all this wonderful technology has seemed to make our lives not only busier, but also more complicated.
As soon as you get used to a new gadget or software program, then suddenly there’s a new one to replace it and get used to. And instead of having more time to enjoy life, we spend way more time glued to all of our wonderful techy devices, because now we can’t do anything without these amazing devices and applications.
Don’t you see? They’re taking over our lives! They’re everywhere!
Oh wait, hang on, that’s what we wanted though wasn’t it??
The aim was to utilise this new technology to make things not only easier, but more productive in every area of our lives.
And maybe it is. Study is certainly more productive I think. Shopping or communicating across the globe is now as easy as falling off …. well, falling off your computer chair I guess.
But what I don’t understand is, with all this fantastic time and energy saved, why am I still struggling to find time to write this blog??
Must be something wrong with the technology. ;-)
