ICT… hmmmm. Without it, you would not be reading this blog, nor would I be writing it. It might once have become a newspaper column instead, an opinion piece that people wrap their rubbish in after reading, or not. But would a newspaper article have the same impact, the same meaning, or the same global availability as a blog?
How times have changed.
Blogs, a shortened form of web-logs, are a way for anyone to share their opinions, useful information, or funny pictures of animals, without needing any specific qualification or huge arsenal of resources, other than a computer and internet connection.
Blogs are extremely popular, and are everywhere, about every topic you could ever imagine. One site gives the estimate for July 2015 of 246.6 million blogs just on Tumblr alone, let alone all the other platforms out there. You can view these estimated figures here:

So how many others could there be out there? Millions? Billions?
Anyone can share an opinion, and with the anonymity of the internet, many more people can feel more confident to do so. Blogs are able to be created by just about anyone, making global accessibility, connectability and equality of all peoples a reality.
Hey, maybe that was what technology was intended for? To connect people!
