It would seem that with the invention of smartphones, and the revolution of App Store and Google Play, that there certainly is ‘an app for everything’.
Now while I do love my tablets, I try quite hard not to overload them with apps. Some of them are so addictive, so cute, so now ….. and so useless! You really can have too much of a good thing.
And as for my ‘smart phone’, well I try to keep it dumbed right down. I actually prefer to use it for phone calls and texts. I know, archaic, right?
Now as for keeping my life organised, I write lists. Sometimes lots of lists. On paper. That’s how I roll.
But I have since discovered an app that may just make me change my whole attitude to lists.
Trello.
It’s pretty, it’s colourful, and it’s made just for lists. It looks a lot like Pinterest (which I have great fondness for), except it’s for doing stuff! Plus you can share and collaborate with others to share your lists.
A Pinterest for lists?!! Oh wow! Hold me back!! Yes I know I have no life, but it’s going to be a very organised non-life with this shiny new app.
Whatever did I do before Trello?? Oh yeah that’s right, paper and pen. And you know, after all the excitement dies down, I’ll probably go back to my paper lists, they’re comforting somehow. But I can always copy them to my Trello lists too, just so they look pretty!
Adding this one to my wishlist too. Not just because I'm a sucker for pretty things, but because I honestly believe it could be very useful for my teaching, and also when collaborating with teachers in the future. This is just one of many social idea-sharing applications that seem to be popping up everywhere, and looks to be a future trend that's here to stay. And what better way of being prepared for the future, than by practising now!
